Update

I got back in from Ft. Lauderdale last night and just wanted to give an update. I am still feeling good but starting to get nauseated sometimes. As of Wednesday, every time I eat something I feel sick. Its actually worse in the afternoon, and after I eat dinner, than any other time. Most times I feel like I am going to be sick if I don't get something to eat but nothing sounds good. When I do get something I can only take a few bites and I don't want it anymore. It's a crazy cycle but definitely worth it! :-)

Green Thumbs in Action!

Today was a beatiful day so Brad and I decided to work on the yard. Brad had already worked on the backyard while I was in Ft. Lauderdale. He planted a garden full of tomatoes, zucchini, squash, red peppers, jalapenos and eggplant. I can't wait for them to be ready!

We drove to Jacksonville to look for patio furniture and found a set that we liked at Garden Ridge. I picked out a turquoise pot I really liked so we got it too. Afterwards we went to Lowe's to get flowers for the front yard. We got some purple and yellow lantana and Brad made a flower bed with some landscape matting to keep the weeds out. It was a spot we have been needing to fill for awhile.

We got some bright orange marigold which was perfect for the turquoise planter, some xanadu philodendron (really cool tropical plant) that I put in a large planter my mom gave us, and some neon pothos (lime green, grows like a vine, very hard to kill, perfect for me!) to put around the house.

I put the patio table together while Brad was planting in the front. We worked until dark and everything looks great. Here are some pictures of our hard work...move over HGTV!

Neon Pothos-It looks a lot brighter in person. I got 5 pots out of one hanging plant!

Brad putting the mulch around the lantana.

Patio furniture with marigold in turquoise planter. Citronella oil lamp on table to keep the hummingbird sized mosquitos away. Philodendron in background.

First Photo of Baby Morris

Here it is! The first photo of Baby Morris. The big round black space on the bottom right is the gestational sac and the top white line is the fetal pole. We went for the first doctor visit yesterday and she said I am 5 weeks along and everything looks good. I started feeling a little sick before the appointment but I think it was just nerves because afterwards I was fine. Brad was so funny in the appointment. He had never seen anything like the stuff in the ultrasound room and was especially tickled by the stirrups. We saw Cynthia, a midwife, and she was great. She answered all of our questions and we felt very comfortable with her right from the start. We are scheduled to go back in 3 weeks for an 8 week checkup and get bloodwork. I am still feeling great so lets hope that lasts.

Exciting News

We're pregnant! I found out Sunday May 4th while in Ft. Lauderdale for work. I had back to back training classes so it was easier for me to just stay over the weekend. Saturday I was weepy while on the phone with my mom so she had her suspicions and asked me if I could be pregnant. I said no but went and got a test on Sunday. Alone in my hotel room I got the positive result. I knew I couldn't tell Brad over the phone so every time I talked to him I acted like nothing. It was very hard....

I changed my flight to come home on Thursday but for some reason on Wednesday night, Brad said he got a feeling and asked me. I couldn't lie to him then so he found out while we were on the phone. I couldn't wait to get home!!

For the weekend we already had plans for us, my mama, Pat, Amy and Brad's parents to get together in Edisto. So it was perfect because it also happened to be Mother's Day. Brad got his mom a card that said "Grandma, what you could you possibly want for Mother's Day?"...when you opened it up there was a fox with its arms stretched out and it said, "You already got me"
Brad wrote in the middle "I can't wait to meet you! Do you want me to call you Grandma or Granny? Love, Guess Who". His mom didn't catch on at first...she thought the card was from Baxter...but then she got it and was super excited...it was awesome and we got it all on video.

I have felt great since I found out. Sometimes I am a little tired but nothing major. My first appointment is tomorrow and we can't wait!
